Upcycling Furniture

Almost another month over been very busy with removals and delivering furniture throughout the UK looking forward to getting back in the workshop soon especially with this weather.
Found a nice little 1960's cabinet calling out to be upcycled and considering the possibilities, reckon this once upcycled would make a very good bedside cabinet.
The cabinet still has its original stamp on and commonly known as "brown" furniture very well made with its dovetail joints but not in fashion these days.
Meanwhile, there's plenty of furniture to view in store and we are constantly renewing our stock, to see what's new please CLICK HERE

Antique Oak Chairs

Busy today crating a fine pair of antique oak chairs ready for shipping and pleased they were like the modern day flat pack furniture. No screws or glue just pegs and dowels took a little time dismantling them, reckon the first time they have been since they were assembled.
Wonderful carving and the craftsmanship gone into making the oak chairs, reckon French judging by the inscriptions, never had chance today to learn more let alone photograph them. Probably won't see another pair again like these....
The final picture not the best was the first of the day should of had a coffee first its been a long week!

Tabard Inn Library Revolving Bookcase

Busy day crating furniture yesterday ready for shipping, The Tabard Inn Library Revolving Bookcase was a little challenging.
The Tabard Inn Library was a membership library founded by Seymour Eaton in 1902. Revolving bookcases were placed in drug stores and other commercial establishments throughout the United States.
A lifetime membership was available for $3.00, later reduced to $1.50, with a five cent deposit when exchanging books at the bookcases.
Each book was identified by a sturdy black case encircled by red tape, hence the slogan "With all the Red Tape on the Box."
